Standing on the platform, she draws the bills from her wool overcoat and asks for a one-way ticket. Wreaths of smoke rise from the panting engine. Her crystal earrings, and Art Deco necklace glint in the sun.
The woman in the office recognizes her and makes town small talk and she hands over her ticket.
Just then, her love's arms embrace her. With a sign of relief, she takes his hand in hers.
They seek refuge in one of the carriages. Ready to follow her dreams. Wondrous beauty surrounds her.

They're here!
The newest designs from Suzabelle.
Romantic.
Sophisticated.
Mod.
Detailed.

Suzabelle's designs are full of details, feminine, and classic. Year after year, they are timeless. Designer Suzanne Jaberg was named "designer of the decade" by the Seattle Magazine and even dubbed the "Seattle Coat Queen" by the Seattle Times.

Just one of the few lines we at Anne Bocci Boutique support that is manufactured overseas, Suzie's goal in production is to provide great living wages and work environments for women in smaller, less-developed countries. The quality is superior, details are perfect and fit classic.

The production manager visits the manufacturers weekly to ensure everything is running smoothly and that all aspects of development are socially responsible. Suzie uses natural fiber materials and dyes whenever possible and source their fabrics and labor within the same community.

Suzabelle is dedicated to employing only sweatshop-free labor because they believe that protecting human welfare is critical to ensuring that worldwide conservation initiatives and actions are sustainable and effective. To help offset the impact of production and transportation of these garments on the environment, Suzabelle will donate 5% of proceeds from each sale to Conservation International.

Right on trend for Fall, comfy cardigan and wood earrings.

Photobucket

If Monday had a Facebook page, it would have zero friends.
None. Not a one. At least that's how I usually feel when that alarm goes off at 6:25 am. When I drag myself out of bed in the morning, especially when there's a bit of a nip in the air, I just want to throw on something that's easy, comfortable, and still looks good. Is that too much to ask? Now, I think I have my go-to outfit. This cardigan's simple lines scream design, and open dramatic neckline easily makes even a tee-shirt and jeans look glam. So pinch me... I found a piece that's functional, comfy and full of style, and it's supporting local. Which leads me to think, it may seem cheaper to buy mass-produced over handmade, (H & M vs. local boutiques) but it's insanely expensive when you consider how much it costs the globe. Tiffany stops by and models this comfortable, downtown cardigan and these modern, rounded maple wood earrings by Ms. Wood. They're made right here, in Portland, with fair wages, not by children working 16 hour days. But by the artist, with love. Now there's a concept. :) A wardrobe staple in comfy organic cotton, with snap closure, you can wear it over jeans, leggings, skirts and dresses. It's no wonder, Portland's own Ms. Wood was named "Best Emerging Designer" at Portland Fashion Week. This beauty is actually named the Ms. Wood Downtown Cardigan and it's yarn dyed organic cotton and hemp. (Oh, so Portland.) Small, Medium found right here.

These fun earrings are also handmade with love in Portland, Oregon, by Ms. Wood. $36 They measure 4" long X 2" wide and only 1/16" thick so it's not heavy at all, and finished with sterling silver hooks. Go Portland designers! The best part is free shipping, here.
Available here in the following woods:
Maple = blond (as shown on brunette Tiffany)
Padauk (pah-dook) = vibrant red/orange (shown on blond Katya)
Walnut = rich brown with blond highlights
Cherry = reddish blond
Purple heart = red/purple

Here, my friend, Katya is wearing these pretty earrings in the Padauk wood.

You can learn more about these earrings and the cardigan right here and see lots more from our town's amazing designers and artists.
Thanks for stopping by. Stay warm and comfy. Thanks for supporting your local artists, and those making handmade things with love.

Dreaming of warm terra cotta tiles, sun-drenched skies, playful dressing.

Think sun-drenched hues on a lazy day. Summer living. Warm terra cotta tiles by the pool. Pale blues that blend with the sky and look good every day. Blue lace agate geodes paired with chains and pearls. White patent leather accessories. Looks that are undeniably playful. Always wearable. Undeniably Suzabelle paired with Anne Bocci jewelry and handbags.

Suzabelle designer Suzanne Jaberg does it again. Her new collection, Suzabelle Spring Summer is new at Anne Bocci Boutique. Suzie's collection is unique, full of her signature details and oh-so wearable. With a spring/summer palette of pale azure, taffy, gray and sun-drenched blue chambray, plus black & white, deep jade, this collection shows detailed styling and playful pieces that are no where near what you'd find at the mall. This is a collection with her indie character and those little extras, like hidden pockets, asymmetrical lines and antique brass details.

And jewelry and accessories that scream summer are long chains, rocks, geodes, natural cut stones, and real patent leather. The white leather bag is quality real patent leather with incredible craftsmanship, and playful heart latch. This is not the kind of patent leather you see at Macy's. This is rare to find. Real patent leather. And it's perfect size fits your cell phone and credit cards perfectly. These handbags and jewels are found in a tiny boutique in SW Portland.

Valentine's Day is near
Just wishing you were here
You will always be in my heart
So we'll never emotionally be apart
Beneath my skin, my soul lies waiting for you
Never give up hope
Remembering our first date
All I ask is to be with you
And for you to be my Valentine
For I will always cherish your heart in mine

Yes, Valentine's Day is just around the corner.
Here are a couple ideas that will make her smile.

Autumn...
Summer’s kiss is fading. Longing for Fall’s sweet crisp air.

A few days ago I walked along the edge of the lake and was treated to the crunch and rustle of leaves with each step I made. The acoustics of this season are different and all sounds, no matter how hushed, are as crisp as autumn air.

This one-of-a-kind heart-shaped jewelry box was handmade out of South American Bloodwood by Northwest Fine Woodworking artist Curtis Erpelding, and the seams are so beautifully crafted you can barely find the opening (that’s a good thing). I also carry a varied selection of handmade jewelry – chunky freshwater pearls, Swarovski crystals, jet beads and all kinds of sparkle – to give along with the box if your heart is feeling full.
